Cool ships. Anime has interesting spaceship designs most of the time. Some of them are weird though. I forget the name of it but there was one anime where the ships fought with mechanical arms.

Yeah, not Ghost in the Shell, I never got into that one. This was...ugh...right on the tip of my tongue. Outlaw Star. Very odd.

I don´t know Outlaw Star. It wasn´t aired here in Brazil. :)
About Ghost in the Shell, I think it´s very good. It has 03 longas, and two series. Remembers Matrix, but Ghost in the Shell older. ;)

I'm not sure why Ghost in the Shell never clicked with me. I tried to watch it but I just couldn't get into it.

Humm... maybe it´s cause the movie is a bit dense/cansative? It isn´t full-action oriented all the time, so, if you forget to keep your attemption for a few minutes, sometimes you can fell yourself a bit lost. Dialogues contains subliminar plots too, which makes you to desire rewatch some scnes. :) I nver watched more than one chapter by day. :)
Yamato is different. It has a different approach than the original show, since the remake goes deeper in the history, including the tripulation lives. This one I can watch 02 or 3 by day with no problem, except than to correct the bad translation to portuguese. :D

I think it's because I have to like a character. Even if it's not the main character I need to like watching at least one of them to like the series. I never found one in Ghost in the Shell.

I understand.
Yeah... Ghost in the Shell don´t have that charismatic character which we all are expecting. Now that you pointed this, makes me think it is what makes me don´t have that urge in seeing the next episode.
