Yamato is a japanese anime series from 70´s, which had a few spin-offs too, like Yamato 2520, Dai Yamato Zero-go, Yamato Rebirth and the live action movie Battleship Yamato (2010). Therefore, the live action don´t makes justice to the series of animes, and is very poor to my taste.
In the year 2012, Yamato franchise was rebooted (for the better I must say) with the start of a new series, named Yamato 2199.
Since the episodes 6 to 10 of Yamato 2199 are now available, I´m translating the english subtitles to portuguese. Hopefully, I´ll have them ready by the next weekend. For the ones that still don´t whatched Yamato 2199, I highlly recomend to do it. It´s a very good animation. ;)

Sometimes translations can mess up what a thing is actually trying to say. Translating from Japanese to English to Portuguese might lose some of what the original dialogue has to say. You should learn Japanese instead and then translate it.

Yes, translations like this can be a problem. But the english subtitles is all that I have. That and my wife, which is japanese. :D Therefore, her native language is portuguese too, and she hardly understands japanese dialogues. :(

Learn japanese Nitz? Are you crazy? The language has more than 2000 caracters (kanjis) and complicated conversation !!!!! I´m to much old for that.

It's never too late to teach an old dog new tricks.

I'm thinking about learning some Russian myself. I've been learning a bit of Greek on my own too.

new tricks, yes, but not magic. :D I don´t have the time, and it´s just a hobby. ;)
So, you´re learning russian and greek? I admire you. It won´t be that easy.
As a side note, I love the greek history and his mitology. Greeks left a great contribuition to the world, in many areas of knowledge.

Yeah, I really enjoy the Greek mythology too. I especially enjoy Aesop's Fables with their little moral points and talking animals.

I had a friend that absorbed languages. By the time we graduated he spoke several, including klingon. He worked as a translator at the UN for a few years but he quit, too stressful.

The guy that translated documents for the CIA before the Iraq war... he said Weapons of Mass Destruction, but it was supposed to be Friday is Falafel Night at Farouk's Farsi Fast Food Drive Thru.
