I didn't think much of the previews before the show first aired, it seemed like they were trying to make a Jurassic Park TV series, but it's science fiction, so I watched it to see what it was like.

I loved it, I haven't missed an episode since it started.

The first season is only 11 episodes, and it just had its season finale, bad part is it's on FOX, and everyone knows how much they like cancelling stuff... ie. Firefly, Alien Nation, and countless other great shows.

SPOILERS

In the year 2149 the Earth has become so badly polluted that it's only a matter of time before humanity dies out, but there's hope, a portal is discovered that takes mankind into a parallel universe 85 million years in the past.

The series focuses mostly on the Shannon family, which consists of a husband, wife, son, and two daughters. The husband becomes sort of the local cop in the human colony, his wife is a doctor and takes over the medical facilities.

The colonists are fighting against the dinosaurs and another group of humans who want to help the future strip mine the planet.

I haven't watched it but I've heard the ratings are pretty bad and it may not get renewed.

Figures.

Might be why they only made 11 episodes for the first season and seemed to cram a way too much story into the season finale.

The series isnĀ“t aired in Brazil yet, but based upon Nitz description, looks like a mix between Jurassic Park and the old Land of the Lost. Just the slistacks are missing. :D

Yeah, that's pretty much it.

I hope it gets renewed, I want to see what happens next.

This is what I read about this possibility:

@jason_omara revealed via twitter that the decision to renew Terra Nova will be made Next Year.

Decision to pick up #TerraNova for S2 deferred to New Year by @FOXBroadcasting. Everyone involved remains confident and optimistic.

Due to FOX being contractually obligated to have a 22 episode Season 2 (if there is one), production would have to start earlier than May 2012 to accommodate filming and the special effects.

I always liked of dinossaurs. Hope to see a chance to see the series.

That sounds optimistic for sure.
